TIMES LIKE THESE is a feature length documentary film that chronicles the inspiring journey and harrowing struggles of a family whose father is diagnosed with Male Breast Cancer.
Bill is a middle-aged father, married with six children and three grandchildren.
After noticing an odd indentation on his chest, Bill goes to see his doctor. He's shocked to learn he has Male Breast Cancer.
During his treatment and recovery, Bill is inspired to create BREAST CANCER BROTHERS - an advocacy group dedicated to helping men with breast cancer and their families find support, resources, and understanding.
While working to build the foundation, Bill discovers his cancer has metastasized.
Bill is now in the fight of his life to stop his cancer while still working to provide for his family. A musician in his youth, his plight inspires Bill to return to songwriting to share his experiences. With his cousin Dave, they compose an inspiring ode about learning to appreciate the life we are given with the time we have.
Sadly, Bill's cancer begins to aggressively overtake his body.
Bill dies in hospice at home, surrounded by his family.
We’re the first feature documentary to closely examine the tumultuous journey and devastating toll men and their families face when living with Breast Cancer and Metastatic Breast Cancer.
Little is known about Male Breast Cancer, which kills 25% of the men who develop it. Thousands more go undiagnosed every year as the number of new cases continues to rise.
Tragically, Men and Women who develop Metastatic Breast Cancer will die within 36 months of their diagnosis.
Shockingly, there is no major funding supporting research of Men with Breast Cancer or Metastatic Breast Cancer.
Through the art of filmmaking we hope to share the inspiring human story behind this deadly disease.
